Lib Dems unveil plans for Epping Forest families

Charles Kennedy MP, Leader of the Liberal Democrats, today launched the Party's Families mini-manifesto. The plans include extending pre and after school care, offering new mothers a Maternity Income Guarantee equivalent to the minimum wage of £170 per week for the first 6 months after the birth of their first child, and increasing nursery care for 3-4 year olds.

Local Lib Dems Launch County Council Manifesto

Epping Forest Liberal Democrat candidates launched their manifesto on Saturday for the county elections on 5 May. They are fighting for a cleaner and greener Essex, more spending on road and pavement maintenance, and better provision for young people in their local areas.

The launch has been backed by the most substantial advertising campaign in the party's history - with full page adverts in the Daily Mail, The Independent and The Times to be followed up by a fleet of touring poster vans.
